Zhen Fan

Biography

Zhen Fan lives and works in Beijing. The artist’s painting explores the relationship between inner experience and the outer world through an abstract language rooted in Chinese thought and aesthetics.

The study of the I Ching and a reflection on the spiritual dimension accompany a practice in which colour, matter and rhythm become tools of perception and introspection. Across the different series, the artist moves through themes of transformation, memory and reconciliation with oneself and the world, up to her most recent works devoted to love, fortune and blessing.
